The Alibis
Their classy, horn driven swing music and jump blues appeals to music lovers and dancers
alike. The Alibis' sound has been influenced by swing and jump blues combos from the
1950s rhythm and blues era and the neo-swing revival of the late 1990s. The Alibis
sensibly avoid the over-familiar tunes in this 50s-style of jazz-pop (mercifully no
Louis Jordan overkill) and keep the music tight'n'tidy... Jump blues is good-time music and they sound like they are having a good time doing it.

Love Jones
It's smooth, it's funky, it's sophisticated. Imagine your favorite soul classics, old school jams, funkly grooves and nu soul deconstructed and recreated with the wicked vocals of Leza Corban (Strawpeople, Union), the tasty Ryan Monga laying down the beats for the legendary Ardijah and groovin on the african drum with the Love Jones, and the sizzling Mr Karl Benton (Groovadelica) tearing up the keyboards. It's so hot it should be illegal! Leza has delved into her record collection and picked some of the sexiest, smoothest and sassiest tunes ever made. We're talking Al Green, Erykah Badu, Aretha, Sade, Angie Stone, Stevie Wonder, Luther ... they do it all. The Love Jones is for those who want a sophisticated atmosphere with a contemporary edge. It's for relaxing, chilling, having a little dance if you feel the need, but mainly it's about gorgeous muisc done gorgeously! |
